Private space travel has already begun. In 2001 Dennis Tito spent a week on the International Space Station (ISS). In 2002 Mark Shuttleworth became the world's second space tourist, and in 2005 Gregory Olsen became the third. Within the next few years commercial sub-orbital flights are expected to begin and, in perhaps twenty to thirty years, orbital hotels may become a reality.
