Robby Gaines

Robby Gaines is an engineering graduate from Texas A&M. He was a "pad rat" at the Cape Canaveral Air Force launch pad 41, where he prepared the pad for the launching of spy satellites and Mars exploration spacecraft. He is the vice president of development for the National Space Society, a member of the Planetary Society and a founding member of the Challenger Learning Center. He was the landing event chairman for the Mars Polar Lander at Rice University. He has been selected as one of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory's (JPL) Solar System Ambassadors. He is a pilot and owned and flew a World War II airplane. He is also an Eagle Scout. Mr. Gaines is the author of the online e-mail newsletter, Spotlight on Space.
