A 21-year-old Canadian named Edward Jack, working at the De Havilland aircraft company, announces he will make a high altitude parachute jump from over 20,000 feet while carrying a radio transmitter. He states that his every word will be broadcast back to receiving stations on the ground where it will be picked up by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and sent to radio stations coast-to-coast. He also states he would like to start Canada's first rocket society. Toronto Star
