The third volume of the "Principles of Guided Missile Design" series (G. Merrill, ed) is divided into three sections in accordance with its title. The operations research part of the book shows how missile requirements are derived, performance specifications set, systems evaluated, and employment plans made. The armament section covers characteristics for armament, targets, warheads, fuzes, arming and safety components, etc., while the launching section deals with boosters, catapults, airborne launchers, design principles, and so forth.
