Dr. H. J. E. Reid, Engineer-in-Charge of the Langley Laboratory, became scientific chief of the War Department's Alsos Mission charged with picking up as much information as possible on the enemy's scientific research and development.


Kenneth Gatland founder of the CBAS continues his ongoing history of Rocket Propulsion in the magazine Practical Mechanics. The article in the October edition covers the subject for the year 1930.
