SATCOM KU-1 was a commercial communications satellites built by RCA and deployed by the STS 61-C shuttle mission. It provided C-band video, voice and data services to commercial and government users in the continental US, Alaska and Hawaii. It was stationed in a geosynchronous orbit at 81 degrees W.
