07. What does Earth's exterior look like from outer space? Why does Earth look blue, brown and white? (A K2S Question)
From The Space Library
From very far off, you cannot see the brown areas. As you come closer, to about the distance of the Moon, only then does the brown begin to be noticeable. This is amazing when you think about it because the brown bits are really the most important, since they are the land areas where we all live. The blue areas are the oceans and the white areas are clouds and ice.
