Simple rockets are easy to construct. Take a plastic pill bottle with a snap-on lid, a spoonful of water, and an Alka-Seltzer tablet. Place upside down, and you have an interesting classroom demonstration. Small solid rocket motors and vehicles can be purchased in hobby stores in single and multi-stage varieties. Mixing your own rocket propellant is very dangerous and can cause serious injuries. Rocket clubs can provide guidance and safety procedures for those who insist on building their own.
