August 11: Photographic evidence from U.S. satellites had indicated U.S.S.R. construction of Moscow antimissile defense had been slowed down, if not halted. U.S. intelligence officials had been satisfied from photographs that Tallinn defense across northeast approaches to U.S.S.R. was against U.S. bombers, not missiles. (W Post, 8/11/68, 1)
