Hazel McAndrews

Hazel McAndrews graduated from the University of Leicester, UK with a master's degree in physics with space science and technology. After graduating she worked in the Space Department at QinetiQ, a leading technology company. Her role included operational responsibilities for Earth observation satellites, sensor technology development, and running projects on Mars exploration for the European Space Agency. She is also a graduate of the International Space University. She is currently on sabbatical from QinetiQ and is in the final year of a Ph.D. program in physics of the Saturnian Magnetosphere using data from the Cassini spacecraft. She has always taken on significant roles in organizing events for space education and outreach. She is on the board of and a residential staff member at Space School UK and regularly runs workshops and gives lectures. In her spare time she also enjoys climbing, tae kwon do, and playing the guitar.
