Kenneth S. Kleinknecht, was Apollo Spacecraft Program manager for command and service modules. Born Washington, D.C. Married to former Patricia Jean Todd of Cleveland, Ohio. Joined NACA Lewis Research Center 1942 in aircraft flight test; transferred to NACA Flight Research Center 1951 in design and development work in advanced research aircraft; transferred to NASA Space Task Group 1959 as technical assistant to the director; worked on X-15 program; named manager of Project Mercury 1962 and on completion of Mercury, deputy manager Gemini Program in 1963; named Apollo Spacecraft Program manager for command and service modules early 1967 after Gemini Program completed. BS in mechanical engineering Purdue University.
