[edit] Abstract

The four-stage Proton-K launch vehicle was first proposed for launching commercial satellites for western customers in the mid-1980s, but because of international politics the first commercial launch did not take place until 1996. This paper reviews the launches of the four-stage Proton-K, concentrating on the various in-orbit launch profiles which have been flown.
