The fifth edition of The Journal of the British Interplanetary Society included articles by Philip Ellaby Cleator about extra-terrestrial life. Cleator also reported the formation of "The Peoria Rocket Society" founded by T.S. Cunningham in Peoria Illinois and the Nederlandse Rakettenbouw (The Dutch Rocket Society) formed by A.G. Thoolen in s'Gravenhage Holland.

The journal also reported that Willy Ley had left for a "prolonged stay" in the United States at the hospitality of G. Edward Pendray after having spent time with Cleator in England.
