[edit] Abstract

Traditional satellite control systems are based largely on operators monitoring screens of information and carrying out repetitive pre-set tasks. However increasing demands are now being placed on satellite operations due to the ever-expanding population of the satellites under control and the complexity of the environments these spacecraft operate within. In an attempt to control escalating costs satellite operating companies are looking to more advanced techniques to assist in the day- to-day operations of the modern satellite control centre.
