Col. Thomas H. McMullen (USAF) was Assistant Mission Director Apollo Program, beginning in March 1968. He was born July 4, 1929, in Dayton, Ohio. Colonel McMullen graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1951 with a BS degree. He also received an MS degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1964. His Air Force assignments included: fighter pilot, 1951 1953; acceptance test pilot, 1953 1962; development engineer, Gemini launch vehicle program office, 1964 1966; and Air Force Liaison Officer, 25th Infantry Division, 1967. He served in the Korean and Viet Nam campaigns and was awarded several high military decorations.
