Commercial space travel will definitely be available by the end of the decade and hopefully a couple of years before that. Virgin Galactic's business plan is aiming for commercial sub-orbital flights to start during 2008. Bearing in mind that the SpaceShipOne prototype has flown successfully and that funding and infrastructure is already in place, this time frame looks realistic, although being first means inevitable uncertainty.
