Venus is so bright in the morning and evening skies that it is almost as easy to see as the Sun and Moon. Venus is the only object—other than the Moon—that can easily be seen both in daytime and nighttime on Earth. For that reason, it is often called the morning star or evening star. At night, it is the brightest star-like object in the sky.
