Right now an astronaut must be able to understand information which is presented in visual displays. To make space travel safer and less costly, NASA has pioneered automation of many tasks that used to be done by people. As space travel becomes more common and affordable, it will be possible to engineer access technology such as Braille displays and screen readers that will make the tasks required for space travel manageable, just like any other complex engineering task on Earth.
