The Moon is made up of mostly oxygen (O), 45 percent average abundance by mass; silica (Si), 21 percent by mass; aluminum (Al), 13 percent by mass; calcium (Ca), 10 percent by mass; magnesium (Mg), 5.5 percent by mass; iron (Fe), 6 percent by mass; and some titanium (Ti), and sodium (Na), both less than 1percent. The solar winds implant elements in the Lunar soil such as hydrogen (H), helium (He), carbon (C), nitrogen (N), oxygen (O), phosphorous (P), and sulfur (S).
