The amount of fuel used to launch a rocket is considerably less than that used in everyday driving. The amount of fuel used by the Space Shuttle equals only two minutes of driving in the United States. The engineers have studied the exhausts of rockets, and the effects on the environment are minimal. The reason is because most of the exhaust is made of natural materials such as water.
