There are actually two voltages: 28 volts direct current (DC) and 115 volts 400 hertz (Hz). The scientific and flying equipment on spacecraft use these special types of voltages—at least right now. But this could change. Circuit breakers are used all over the spaceship. In this way, if they trip they can be reset. A fuse has to be replaced if it trips or blows. This means that if we use fuses we would have to carry spare fuses, and this means extra weight, which is not good.
