05. Will we be able to see the ozone layer when we are in space? (A K2S Question)
From The Space Library
You cannot directly see the ozone layer from space. You will need a special instrument to "see" it. So the Space Shuttle carries the Shuttle ozone limb sounding experiment-2 (SOLSE-2). This instrument looks at the atmosphere from the side. So the ozone layer appears as a layer in the atmosphere, just like the icing on a cake.
