07. If we have a malfunction, what would happen? (A K2S Question)
From The Space Library
It depends upon the nature of the malfunction and when it occurs. Most malfunctions are foreseeable and planned for ahead of time. There are processes and procedures in place to determine the necessary action to take in the event of the malfunction. If a malfunction does not have a critical effect on the outcome of the mission, then nothing may be done at that time. For example, if there were a malfunction in a non-critical system just prior to landing, they would wait until after landing to fix it.
