07. Will this be the last time I'll see my family or am I able to go with my family and my pets? (A K2S Question)

If your mission is one of the early exploratory missions to the Moon or Mars, you will most certainly be going there and then returning to Earth and your family. It will be a long time before whole families go and even longer before pets are allowed. There have been discussions about building ships big enough to send a large group of people (500 or more!) on a one-way trip to find new worlds to colonize. These are called generation ships or world ships since the ship would be the whole world to many generations of the people who live on it before it would get to another star system that might have a planet that could be colonized. It would take many hundreds of years depending on the propulsion system to make the trip so it would be the descendants of the original crew that would finally reach the new planet.
