08. How many people can live in the ISS at one time? (A K2S Question)
From The Space Library
Original plans called for as many as eight. The number now, two, relates more to the financial cost of an astronaut's Shuttle trip, which is roughly $200 million, than to the actual physical characteristics of the ISS. If desired, some additional residential volume could be added.
