08. How would I get around as a blind person? (A K2S Question)

Jump to: navigation, search

There has never been a blind person in space, thus, many of the techniques will need to be invented. Some travel techniques used on Earth will work but others are problematic in zero-gravity. One thing is certain, part of the answer depends on how space communities are constructed. Hopefully, blind people, as well as many others, will be included in the planning and design of space communities so that the engineering encourages the greatest level of independence and exploration for all visitors.
