Yes, the materials used in spacecraft are often derived from aircraft materials, but need to be adapted to the extreme temperatures. Carbon composites are some of the materials that can withstand the temperatures. In fact, the structure of the CanadArm 2 robot aboard the ISS is made of reinforced carbon fiber composites, as well as aluminum alloy for the moving joints.
