Probably yes. We have already used many materials that are created for space use, such as radiation tinting on our sunglasses, auto-tint glasses, and car windows; air and water purification systems; Kevlar for our vehicles and other building materials; our microwave ovens, magnetic resonance imaging equipment; fire-fighting equipment such as the materials used in protective clothing; and newer lightweight breathing apparatus. A computer reader for the blind, called Optacon, can image printed text by passing a minicamera over a printed page. It uses a control unit to process the camera's picture and translates the picture into a tactile image.
