Mercury is so close to the Sun that it is rarely observed by telescopes. Amazingly, there is evidence of frozen water ice at the poles in craters that never see the Sun. Mercury has a higher iron percentage than any other object in the solar system. The core of Mercury is very large compared to the rest of the planet.
