If we were on a planet that had a day that was longer or shorter than 24 hours, the body clock will probably have to adapt. Fortunately, Mars has a daytime about the same length as here on Earth. When the astronauts of Apollo 17 stayed three days on the Moon in 1972, they had to close the blinds each time they wanted to sleep, because it stayed bright outside all the time; a day on the Moon lasts for a full two weeks!
