11. How was the Milky Way formed? (A K2S Question)

The Milky Way was formed shortly after the big bang, like all of the galaxies. After the initial expansion, areas that were denser than others were pulled together by their own gravity into galaxies. Within a galaxy, dense regions of hydrogen gas were pulled together to form stars and clusters of stars.
