12. Do we have to lift off from a specific launch pad in order to travel to a specific location in space? (A K2S Question)

Not exactly. The closer to the equator we are, the more benefit we will receive from the rotation of the Earth during ascent. Normally, we launch eastward, so being on the east coast is nice as we don't launch over anyone.
