People can adapt, but normally the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) expects you to have supplemental oxygen above a pressure altitude of 14,000 feet. The Air Force will require that you give blood if you have a decompression above an altitude of 25,000 feet. This is the maximum altitude to fly un-pressurized.
