All life forms on Earth have developed primarily due to the homogenous 1g environment. Any change in these environmental conditions could alter the genetic makeup of these life forms. Puppies born from female Russian space dogs after space travel were normal. Baby rats born in a micro-gravity environment (who have never experienced Earth's 1g gravity) show a disorientation of gravity axis and find it initially difficult to adapt to 1g when returned to Earth. Therefore, it is likely that, under protection from radiation, animals born in space will not be mutants.
