LCG undergarments are required underneath the spacesuits. There are also garments the astronaut wears in case he or she has to go to the bathroom while waiting for launch to occur or during a spacewalk. Basically, these are commercial, off-the-shelf diapers that allow the astronaut to go to the bathroom while lying on his or her back during the three-hour wait for a launch or during a four to six hour EVA.
