NASA has sent many probes to or traveling past Jupiter. These probes included the two Pioneer missions (1973), the two Voyager missions (1979), the Ulysses solar probe (1992), and the Cassini mission (1999). The Galileo orbiter is the only mission to actually orbit the planet Jupiter, studying the planet for seven years from 1995 until 2003. There are two future probes, Juno and JIMO, which are planned to study Jupiter after 2010.
