The atmospheres of Jupiter and Saturn have a small amount of ammonia. You have smelled ammonia before when your parents use it for cleaning; it has a sharp, penetrating odor. Worse yet, those two planets have a small amount of hydrogen sulfide—a gas that reeks like rotten eggs. Uranus has a little methane, enough to make it look blue-green. Neptune has a little more methane, enough to make it look blue. However methane has no odor. Venus has a very small amount of sulfur dioxide. This gas is irritating to the lungs and has the smell of burning sulfur. However there may not be enough to really notice.
