18. Could something go through the Sun? (A K2S Question)

No, nothing would be able to survive a trip through the Sun. As you go through the Sun, the density and temperature rise rapidly, simultaneously crushing and vaporizing anything that would attempt such a trip. In fact SOHO, which is in a stable orbit located about one million miles from Earth, recently witnessed the 1000th comet crashing into the Sun! Needless to say the comet, which is mostly frozen ice with small amounts of rock, did not get very far before it vaporized!
