22. Why do astronauts wear orange suits? (A K2S Question)
From The Space Library
The astronauts wear orange suits during launch until they are on orbit, and then they wear them during re-entry and landing. The suits, or ACES, are orange specifically so that the astronauts can easily be seen should there be a rescue at sea or on land.
