23. What are some reasons to go to space? (A K2S Question)

Man is essentially an explorer interested in what lies just beyond the next hill or sea or even star. In my opinion, one of the benefits of the ISS and its long-term value to society is to lay the groundwork for us to expand the reaches of human civilization beyond Earth orbit to the Moon, Mars and other places in our solar system. In other words, we're not going just to visit; we'll live in space.
