Some experiments have shown that astronauts' body clocks do not work the same in space as on Earth. It is not known what causes this. It may be due to the work schedules the astronauts keep on a mission, or to changes in their sleep schedules. Also, being in a spacecraft orbiting the Earth, the astronauts no longer experience the 24 hour day/night cycle as they do on Earth. This could also disrupt the body clock.
