Scientists have found large amounts of water locked up in the soil on Mars and vast oceans on Jupiter's moon, Europa. Closer to home, NASA's mission to explore the moon named Clementine has found evidence of frozen water located in the Sun-shielded craters near the Moon's South Polar Region. And comets, leftover material from the formation of our original solar nebula, have large quantities of entrapped water ices along with ammonia and methane ices as well.
