Yes. The Shuttle parts and sub-assemblies are carefully verified when produced at their respective factories. Then when they are assembled into higher components they are verified again. Then when the components are shipped to the Kennedy Space Center they are verified again. After assembly into the launch configuration, the Shuttle is tested many more times. As the propellants are loaded and the on board expendables are put in place more tests are conducted until the moment of launch. Even after launch the Shuttle is continually monitored for safe operation.
