Most of the time the astronauts are busy working to complete experiments and deliver payloads to orbit. The schedule is generally tight, and there is not much idle time. The tasks are usually exciting and fun for pilots, scientists, and engineers. But they could be boring to people who aren't interested in those things. If you like roller coaster rides, math, and science, then you would probably like being an astronaut.
