U.S.S.R. launched Cosmos CCXIV into orbit with 3701m (229.9- mi) apogee, 199-km (123.6-mi) perigee, 90.1-min period, and 81.3° inclination. Satellite reentered April 26. (GSFC SSR, 4/30/68)

LaRC selected Northrop Corp.'s Norair Div. for negotiations on $2-mil­lion contract to design and construct differential maneuvering simula­tor. System, two identical piloted flight simulators linked electronically through central computing equipment, would be used to study future aerospace vehicle concepts. (NASA Release 68-74)

NASA announced appointment of two new members to Aerospace Safety Advisory Panel: Dr. C. D. Harrington, President of Douglas United Nuclear, Inc., for six-year term; and S. T. Harris, Officer of the Board, Texas Instruments, Inc., for four years. (NASA Release 68-72)
