Analysis of discolorations on camera that had landed on moon with Surveyor 3 April 19, 1967, was reported in Science by JPL scientist Dr. Leonard D. Jaffe. Camera had been retrieved from lunar surface by Apollo 12 astronauts Nov. 20, 1969. Discoloration pattern indicated that camera had been whitened by impact of particles blown from lunar surface by exhaust of LM as it landed and also that many particles had moved at very low angles to the horizontal.
