Geos 3, the geodynamics experimental ocean satellite launched 9 Apr. 1975, completed 9 mo in orbit and the project was judged successful with respect to the prelaunch mission objectives. Problems with orbit definition and revised criteria for data distribution had delayed the release of large quantities of data, said a report by Charles W. Mathews, Associate Administrator for Applications at NASA, but the first batches would be shipped 30 Jan. to principal investigators, and subsequent batches would be released monthly thereafter.
