The media reported that the Air Force had launched an unmanned Delta rocket from Cape Canaveral on July 3. The rocket contained a $65 million satellite that joined 10 advanced Global Positioning System spacecraft already circling the globe in order to assist military forces on the ground, at sea, and in the air to determine their location.
