A converted DC-9 aircraft, which will be used for microgravity experiments, was rolled out today at NASA's Lewis Research Center. The aircraft will provide investigators with a series of 18-22 second periods of near weightlessness by flying parabolic maneuvers. It will support research in the areas of biotechnology, combustion science, fluid physics, and materials science. It also will support the development of equipment for use on the International Space Station and other orbital platforms. (NASA Release 95-79)
