Propulsion Test Vehicle

The Propulsion Test Vehicle (PTV) was built from a British Skylark rocket and adapted by the Canadian Armament Research & Development Establishment (CARDE). The PTV was first fired on February 24th 1959 at CARDE in Valcartier Quebec and output 20,000 lbs for 20 seconds. It would provide the basis for the Black Brant sounding rocket.
